"This is Now" LP [January, 2004]

Prizm's new debut CD, "This is Now," came as quite a surprise to me. First, I had been listening to a few songs from his webpage, and I wanted to hear more. I then had the opportunity to pick up a copy, and have since listened to it thoroughly.
Overall, for a first CD, it's a good one. Most of the songs have a great sense of rhythm and good beats accompanying Prizm's vocals. After listening to the whole album five or six times though I noticed a decline in the quality of tracks near the end of the album. The first half is awesome, with great sounding hooks and rhymes, but it seemed that as the album went on, the quality went down (with a few obvious exceptions).
It seemed to me that if he had made the album with only the 15 or 16 best songs, it would have been a better album than it is. Putting that aside, for a first album, this is very good, with professional sounding recording and production culminating in some very catchy songs.
